Students from each partner school will, via online discussion groups, examine the concept of independence within a political, historical, and social context, and will explore the process of developing a democratic society. To enhance and to supplement the discussion groups, students from each partner school will conduct research and develop visual presentations related to the project theme of independence and democracy. The research and presentations will be displayed and viewed online.

To meet the goals of the project, the American students, will develop a photo and descriptive online display of buildings, monuments, memorials, and other symbols of independence and democracy within Washington, D.C. Students will also research the concept of independence, the causes of the American Revolution, and the impact independence has on a society, and will develop a virtual tour of the homes of George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. Paralleling the goals and theme of the connectivity online project, Armenian students will develop a digital and descriptive online display of buildings, monuments, statues, and other symbols of independence and democracy within Yerevan, and will research famous people in Armenian history. Students will also capture the feelings and opinions of select Armenian citizens, through video interviews, comparing life before and after independence, and addressing the impact independence has on a society.
