Teacher Projects:
Patti Harrison & Nina Baghdasaryan
U.S. School: Emily Dickenson School Bozeman, MT
Armenian School: Goris School #3 Syunik Region, Goris
After returning from Armenia, the first step was having my class spend a great deal of time learning about Armenia. I
shared pictures and movies about my visit. They did individual research.
While in Goris, my partner teacher,Nina and I discussed having both of our classroom's read a book about a young
Native American woman - Sacagawea. I left the book called Naya Nuki with her in Armenia. We thought it would be interesting
to focus on the life of a young woman the students' age. We thought it is important to know the children and the events
in their life are important and may even influence the history of a nation. They read the book and we read the book. They
created discussions and we created a powerpoint about events in this book. Some of the events actually occurred in an area
near us. We have also shared information about holidays and lifestyles. We would like to continuing focusing on other
historic and cultural differences. I have attached powerpoint about book we read together.
