  Criminal Justice University Exchanges

Criminal justice university exchanges expose students to international models of criminal justice and give NIS and American criminal justice students an overview of law enforcement systems in the host countries. The program is a two-way student exchange for students and faculty advisors. Each exchange program includes a demanding schedule of seminars in criminal law, constitutional law, civics, criminal investigation and community policing. Seminars are supplemented with site visits to law enforcement agencies, courts and correctional institutions.

Throughout the program, Project Harmony schedules extra-curricular and recreational events to help participants experience the "true" local culture. All participants live in host families with students and faculty from the host institution. Project Harmony encourages all participants to examine their assumptions about law enforcement and to engage in open dialogue with American, Russian and Ukrainian police, judges, prosecutors and other representatives of those criminal justice institutions.

Currently, Project Harmony is supporting two international partnerships: Michigan State University College of Social Science and the Lviv Institute of Internal Affairs.
