LYNDE M. JOHNSTON
Mr. Johnston is currently a Police Captain of the Rochester Police Department's Central Investigation Division. A 35-year veteran of the RPD, Cptn. Johnston has taken part in the development of several community policing and initiatives programs and is in charge of the planning, organizing, and directing the activities of his division. His position exercises the supervision of the Homicide Section, Family & Fraud Unit, and the Investigative Services Section. Cptn. Johnston has a degree in Criminal Justice and received training from the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia. Lynde and his wife, Marylin have four children, ages 15-25. Lynde enjoys baseball, golf, hockey, music, reading, history, and antiques. Cptn. Johnston very much looks forward to continuing the collaborative efforts and exchange of ideas with his Russian counterparts, which were initiated during Phase I of the Law Enforcement Exchange Program in December of 2000.

ROBERT J. POLES, JR.
Mr. Poles is a 15-year veteran of the Rochester Police Department, having served as a D.A.R.E. officer ('89-'95), a School Resource Officer ('95-'96), and, most recently, as a Truancy Officer ('96-present). In his current position, Officer Poles coordinates the truancy program for the Rochester Police Department, acting as a liaison between the RPD and the Rochester School District and other social agencies. In addition, Officer Poles supervises the referral process and public relations. With respect to community policing, Officer Poles works directly with the community in locating and identifying truants, who are responsible for the majority of day-time social crimes. Robert (or "Junior") has a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Boston College. Junior and his wife, Mary Ellen, have two children, Ryan (15) and Kelli (13). In his free time, Junior likes to read, fish, and lift weights.

KIMBERLEE A. ROSE
Mrs. Rose is a Police Lieutenant and a 21-year veteran of the Rochester Police Department. Since 1984, Lt. Rose has served as a Police Investigator ('84-'90), a Police Sergeant ('90-'97), and most recently, as Police Lieutenant ('97-present). As Police Lieutenant of the Highland Section 2nd Platoon, Mrs. Rose is responsible for road patrol activities and for administrative duties. With regard to community policing, Lt. Rose represents the RPD at community meetings (she is currently a board member of the YMCA). She is very familiar with the Neighborhood Empowerment Team (NET) and makes frequent referrals. Lt. Rose is proud to represent the RPD, which has been practicing community policing during Lt. Rose's entire 21-year career. Kim and her husband, Levi, have four children, Amanda (12), Matthew (11), Victoria (8), and Zachary (4). Kim's family life keeps her and Levi busy most of the time. But, when they do have spare time, they like to garden. Kim loves to travel, with trips to Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

LEONARD R. WILDMAN
Mr. Wildman serves as the Manager of the Family and Victim Services of the Rochester Police Department. He is responsible for the operation of the following community services: a Family Crisis Team that helps families in distress, a Victims Assistance Unit, which advocates for victims of crimes, a Juvenile Diversion program that works with children that get into trouble with school or the police, and a team of neighborhood citizen volunteers, who check on the welfare of citizens when a homicide has occurred in their neighborhood. Mr. Wildman interacts with many agencies and individuals to help build collaborative relationships between the RPD and the community. Mr. Wildman has worked for the RPD for 25 years and holds a Master's Degree from State University of New York at Brockport in Psychology and Counseling. Len and his wife, Nancy, have two children, Bradly (29) and Vanessa (26). In their free time, Len and Nancy enjoy gardening, bird-watching, fishing, and hiking.
