Participant Resources: Your Goals for the Program

Project Harmony aims to facilitate as much learning and relationship-building as possible in Community Connections programs. The learning components of each program are organized around the goals and interests that participants describe in their program applications. Program staff ask that you consider the following questions and, if possible, email your responses to Project Harmony staff in your program site.

How do you define success in your profession?
What are your personal goals for the Community Connections Program?
What are your professional goals for the Community Connections Program?
How can your participation in this program help your community?
What needs to happen for your program to be successful?
How will you know if your program is successful? (During or after the program, what new information, contacts, or experiences will indicate that the program was helpful to you?)
What do you need to do to make your program successful?
Vermont Program Staff

Project Harmony staff will guide through a process of developing and setting goals during your orientation in the United States. It is a good idea to begin thinking about your goals for this program as early as possible. Even though your goals may change during the course of the program, thinking about them now will help you to focus on what you want to learn when you are in the United States. The best way to make this trip productive and successful is to start thinking now about how the things you want to see in the United States can benefit you at home.
