  Trainer Materials

Project Harmony selects highly skilled individuals to travel as members of the program training teams. As trainers, they play a critical role in disseminating accurate information and creating a dialogue among community partners and across cultures.

Program trainers complete an extensive battery of pre-departure meetings and orientations and are provided with materials that are specific to Project Harmony's Domestic Violence Community Partnership. Some of these materials can be read or downloaded below.

Working on the Domestic Violence Community Partnership can deeply effect trainers, as well as program staff and seminar audiences. The personal safety and security of participants is of high concern in this program. Project Harmony thoroughly briefs all participants on domestic violence and the personal effects that talking about this subject can have on an individual. Project Harmony endeavors to allow time for all trainers and staff members to debrief on a regular basis during training programs, and maintains strict confidentiality during these sessions. For many audience participants, this program is the first time they openly examine domestic violence and re-experience past trauma in their lives. Project Harmony staff, while not certified service providers, are sensitive to this situation and conscientiously work to create a safe environment for victims to talk about their experiences.

Project Harmony feels that the dissemination of information on domestic violence is a great responsibility. There are risks associated with work in this field, but there are also opportunities to help uplift many people who suffer as victims of domestic violence. Our mission is to build the capacity of local organizations in the NIS to help break this cycle of violence.
