Project Harmony

Jordan to US Exchange
Overview

Five Jordanian students and five Palestinian refugee students will travel to New England in July 2006 to re-connect with their American friends. The 21-day program will take them to Vermont, New York and/or Boston where they will work with their American partners to complete the online work and media project they began in the Fall 2005. Students will meet and interview representatives from the mass media, social action groups and other media organizations who have worked hard to make their voices heard in their communities, inspiring participants to become more vocal in their own home communities. The process of observing and interviewing media professionals will give participants the opportunity to practically apply their media literacy language and skills.

The international pairs will be guided by Dr. Rob Williams as they work on completing their digital media projects to be presented to a select audience at the end of the exchange.
