Participant Reflections
"I'm deeply impressed with the work we've accomplished on the FLEX-TAP program. At this point when I finished my work on the digital story I realize how knowledgeable and useful this workshop is. The technological part of the workshop was managed greatly. I have acquired knowledge in softwares like "Dreamweaver 4" and "Photoshop."
Besides that I was greatly impressed with the second part of the workshop that was managed by Kathy. I have to say that while working with Kathy you could literally feel her great dedication for the FLEX TAP program. Her work was done on a very highly professional level." ~Aegerim Sharipova, Kazakstan
"I am very honored to be a participant of TAP project. Not only does it teach us how to use different kinds of programs but leadership skills as well. I am very grateful for all organizers of this program who inspired me to make really big change in my country." ~Ksenia Tsoy, Kyrgyzstan
"My Vermont host family was great. I felt comfortable from the very beginning of the stay. I had host sisters for the first time in my life. Talking to them I remembered myself some years ago. Vermont had a purifying influence on me. Middlebury is so much like Belarus. I also tried skiing!" ~Olga Chernysh, Belarus
"The program inspired us to act, to do something, it showed us that change is possible." ~Feruza Alimbaeva, Kyrgyzstan
"I'm very thankful to Kathy for all skills that she taught me. With these skills my presentation will be much more effective. Now, only after this program, I'm ready to fight for the real changes in my home community. I learned lots of new skills."
~ Oleksandr Rosiysky, Ukraine
"I could say these were the best 10 days during my stay in the US. During these 10 days I realized that I CAN DO something, even if very little, for my home community. I truly encourage others to apply for FLEX TAP and together WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE." ~Tatiana Fedea. Moldova
"Now I definitely know that I can use technology in a way that can change our society. I acquired a lot of new skills that I can use for my future plans in changing my community. It's a great program that makes FLEX students even more advanced in their leadership and technological skills." ~Inna Li, Kazakhstan
"My host family was great. They were very nice. They were very interested in Azerbaijan and in what we were doing with Project Harmony. I will miss them." ~Farida Hasanli, Azerbaijan
"I have to say that this program made me a better person. There are really very few times when I am proud of myself and this is one of them. I finished my story on 'Drug Abuse' and I hope that I'll have a great opportunity to show it to the people of my American community and my local community. I hope that people, especially from my country, will understand how the technology is important and how many problems we can solve through technology." ~Nikolay Melnikov, Uzbekistan
"I gained skills which will help me to gather people around me, help to find supporters and actually create something good for my community. There are many obstacles in our way, but I believe that I can do it. There are many resources that I can use to make a successful presentation and create the movement." ~Giorgi Dvali, Georgia
"My Vermont family was awesome. I learned a totally different side of the United States. My host family is more like Georgian people, so somehow I felt myself at home. They are great people and I really am thankful for everything they did for me." ~Lana Chkartishvili, Georgia
"I grew up seeing all the bad parts of my life as a very big obstacle, that would be ended only by a miracle. Now I know that youth have power, maybe even more than some adults do. We can live better, and now I have all these ideas that are going to help me realize my project. The TAP program is sending me back as a different person. I want to teach people how they can live better, how they can overcome that huge difference between our country and the 'civilized world.'" ~Lilia Fusa, Moldova
