Post-Workshop Activities
Host Country Presentations
After the Vermont workshop in March, students had the opportunity to put their new skills to work. All participants gave a presentation of their digital story in their host communities, and posted the results of their presentation on the program weblog. This provided students with the opportunity to share information about Eurasia with a US audience, and gain support for their work among US organizations, while receiving feedback from their peers.
Online Event
Students also participated in an online event, "Being Ambassadors of Change." This chat featured Mr. Paul Smith, former Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy in Moscow. During the event, students had the opportunity to engage in dialogue with Mr. Smith on topics related to their work in the Technology Ambassadors Program, including networking and resources in Eurasia, moving from idea to action, project specific questions, volunteer service and the experience of being an exchange student. This event provided an excellent transition from the student's work in the United States to their upcoming return to Eurasia.
Home Country Activities
The final activity for the class of 2004 was to present their digital story in their home countries. Students are encouraged to remain active in their communities, transfer skills they learned in Vermont to others through presentations and trainings, and work to develop new democracy-building initiatives upon their return. See Giorgi Dvali's success story here. Students participating in TAP are truly ambassadors of change.
