ANN MARTIN
Executive Director
ann@projectharmony.org

Although new to the position of Executive Director of Project Harmony, my association with this exciting organization goes back many years. My oldest son was a participant in a school exchange many years ago and in the years since, I have been privileged to work many times as the American Trainer in Residence for the PH Women’s Leadership Programs operating throughout Russia, Georgia and Azerbaijan. I have also been serving as Acting Director of Project Harmony for the past several months. I come to Project Harmony from my work for twenty years as Co-Director of the Lamoille Family Center in Vermont. Additionally, my consulting business has kept me challenged by a wide variety of work at all levels of state government. I have two adult sons, Jake and Zac plus a host of friends near and far who constitute my family.

Having known Project Harmony and its work over so many years makes me feel especially honored to be in this leadership position. My own personal life path has been intertwined with the work of this organization over the years and I am delighted to have the opportunity to continue to learn from and contribute to the mission and the work of so many dedicated individuals worldwide.

Ann has a BA in Social Work and an MA in Post-Soviet Gender Studies. She has worked throughout the countries of the former Soviet Union with a special emphasis on gender issues, women in civil society and community development.

ELIZABETH METRAUX
Development Coordinator
elizabeth@projectharmony.org

I joined Project Harmony in June 2006 and am delighted to serve as Development Coordinator, with a focus on the Middle East / North Africa region.

My past professional experience has centered primarily around political campaign management and international humanitarian aid. I have worked in the United States House of Representatives, for the League of Arab States, the American Red Cross and in a number of regional non-governmental organizations in the Middle East and South Asia. Most of my work has included direct relief, needs assessments of displaced populations and education on gender and religious based conflict.

I am also happily married to my husband, David, and am busy keeping up with our newborn daughter, Maddie.

Elizabeth has attended Al Quds University (Jerusalem) and Birzeit University (Ramallah, Palestine) with a focus on Arabic and Middle Eastern Affairs. She is currently continuing her education at Syracuse University.

JENNIFER BANKS
Director of Development
jennifer@projectharmony.org

I am delighted to work for Project Harmony as the Director of Development. Project Harmony is a return to my native New England after years of bright lights and big cities, including New York City, St. Louis, and three years of living in the Czech Republic and traveling throughout Eastern Europe and Eurasia. It was that experience that sparked my interest in post-Soviet cultures, and eventually led me to Project Harmony.

When I’m not working, I enjoy exploring the Vermont countryside and learning how not to be a "flatlander". And after years of apartment dwelling, I am also content to just sit and soak in the charms of having my very own back yard—complete with apple trees!

Jen has a BA in English Lit from Columbia University and an MSW in Nonprofit Management from Washington University. She has over 6 years of experience leading fund development for nonprofits, and before she found her calling as a fundraiser, she worked as a press secretary for the City of New York and developed and taught English language curricula in Prague.

KRISTIN B. RUSSO
Staff Accountant
kristin@projectharmony.org

I joined Project Harmony as Staff Accountant in May, 2007 and was made very welcome by everyone at Project Harmony that I’ve had the chance to meet in person or by email. This organization has many wonderful people taking programs to new and interesting heights. The Mad River Valley became my permanent home twenty years ago, prior to that my family would travel to Vermont from Connecticut to spend vacations skiing or camping. When I am not at work I take ballet lessons, love to sew, play video games with my kids, watching the Red Sox play baseball and enjoy taking trips to new and interesting places with my family. My husband, Michael and I built our own home together with our children, Zachary (16) and Emilymarie (13). Our house wouldn’t be complete without our two loving cats, Maui & Hannah and my new kitten, Madison.

Kristin has a Bachelor of Arts in English from Villanova University in Pennsylvania. After graduating she worked in banking, accounting for a concert promoter for Phish as well as doing bookkeeping, association management and lodging for a local condominium complex.

RAJESH ARYAL
Director of Finance
rajesh@projectharmony.org

I am pleased to work with Project Harmony as its Finance Director. After getting considerable amount of experience in private sector and with the United Nations in Kosovo, I am now working to take Project Harmony to new heights and frontiers financially.

I grew up in Kathmandu, Nepal. My wife Manita and daughters Aakriti and Aadya already like being a Vermonter. The mountains and river reminds us of Nepal a lot. While working with Project Harmony, I also hope to know Vermont better and work with the community here to strengthen ties between the two places.

Rajesh holds a Bachelor of Arts in Management and Political Science from Luther College and a Master of Arts in International Development and Social Change from Clark University. He is also a founding member of Nepal Swayamsebak Sewa Kendra (NSSK), a non-profit organization in Nepal, which works in the interests of most marginalized communities in health, education and community development sectors

RENEE BERRIAN
Program Director
Renee@projectharmony.org

I began working for Project Harmony in February, 1995 as a Program Manager for the Law Enforcement and Domestic Violence Training Programs and became the Community Connections Hosting Program Director in July, 2002. My main responsibility is the overall management of Project Harmony’s Community Connections Hosting Programs that take place in Vermont. I enjoy meeting new people – especially those from other countries, so planning programs for professionals from the NIS is both rewarding and exciting work for me.

My husband, Kim and I have three grown children, Jaime (23) and twins, Jeremy & Jessica (20), a beagle and calico cat. We live in Waitsfield where I enjoy an 8-minute commute to the Project Harmony office every day. My hobbies and interests include gardening, walking, snowshoeing and time with my family and friends.

Renee has a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education. She has taught physical education and also worked in college admissions recruiting and in banking.
